XL brother DSi pushes down value of sister DSi.

April 14th 2010 10:25

Nintendo Australia announced the DSi will be selling at $249.95, so to give reason to buy its newer, larger handheld: DSi XL for $299.95 upon its release tomorrow.

And in less than a year, probably: Nintendo's next handheld.

In 2 months, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) will be the place to watch as Nintendo will announce the next generation of its handheld: the 3DS, which will most likely be properly named and showcase its main function: 3D.

One of the big questions is how Nintendo will implement the 3D. Will it be popping out in front of you, or will it make the illusion inside the screen (like looking into a box with objects inside)? Will it really be using the ‘parallax barrier’ from electronics maker Sharp? Will the XL be the next Micro and only be bought by the purest Nintendo fans?

E3 will be between June 15 to 17.
