Why I'm Still on MW2

You know something is up when you’re pouring half a clip into a player before they die, or when you caught them disappearing off the map when you’re in Predator Missile mode.
Hacked players run rampant in Modern Warfare 2 (MW2), but it still hasn’t turned me off multiplayer. No. I do not like attaching clamps onto my nipples. I do get pissed off when I watch a killcam and notice my character hasn’t even shot his sub machine gun before getting knifed, when clearly I was spraying like a mad man before because of lag. It is all the elements of a 1st person shooter working right that makes the game an addictive experience.
When you’re shot in the head, half the time it’s because of the player's fault. The maps are varied, but all give multiple routes to patrol and camp. Strategies like claiming kills by hiding claymores in positions which most people would run through, or hiding behind a pillar to pick off the backs of unwitting enemies, are satisfying experiences.
One time I played on the snow map called Sub-base. I sprinted to the main tunnel and quickly placed a claymore right behind the crate exposed to the open area the enemy is running from. Sure enough, I was getting shot at and I quickly retreated down the tunnel, spraying at the unsuspecting victim’s direction. They sprinted straight to where I would normally hide: behind the box absent of light and exposure, where I placed my claymore. The enemy gets blown up and I get the first kill in the match. Sweet.
I’ll continue playing MW2 multiplayer throughout the year. As I still think it’s a test of smarts, quick reflexes and accurate on-screen coordination. When the cheaters come out in packs, I simply quit the game and join the countless other matches out there, and hope the amount of real players outnumber the hacked players.
