Where's the street fight?

It was a big mistake, I didn't pre-order my copy of Street Fighter 4 because I had a gamer feeling I won't have to go through the trouble of calling up and saying "one please" to my game trader.
No matter how big a video game was, whether it would be Bioshock, Fallout 3 and even Metal Gear Solid 4, I've still was able to find a copy in the first week of release.
But Street Fighter 4 was a different story.
When I walked into a store a day after its release, any copies left for the PS3 version has been sold out. Only the display boxes mockingly left on the shelf.
Not satisfied, I walked into another games specialist, only to be rejected at the counter time after time. Picking up Command and Conquer 3 for $10 was a consolation that kept me content to wait for the second shipment to come to Oz.
What caused the SF4 drought? It turned out the game, according to Gamasutra, became the fastest selling game of 2009, with over 2 million copies shipped and topping the UK charts on both 360 and PS3 platforms.
Street Fighter 4 has become a serious contender for 2009 fighter of the year and is a harsh lesson to me not to take pre-orders likely, I'll be sure to think of pre-ordering Resident Evil 5 carefully, especially how the special edition looks!
