UK: Wii Interactivity Didn't Cause Manhunt 2 Ban

Developmag reports a startling revelation that controversial Rockstar London game, Manhunt 2, had not been banned on the Wii for its interactive controls.
According to the news feed, the British Board of Film Classification had confirmed this in light of Take Two’s creation refused classification four months ago and, just recently, edited and accepted with a Mature rating.
Reported by MCV nearly two weeks ago, David Cooke, Director of the BBFC, said the game was banned for its violence despite changes made. It seems the nail in the coffin for the games entry into the UK market is Take Two’s refusal to consider the BBFC’s proposals to change the game.
“We recognise that the distributor has made changes to the game, but we do not consider that these go far enough to address our concerns about the original version.” David Cooke said.
“We did make suggestions for further changes to the game, but the distributor has chosen not to make them, and as a result we have rejected the game on both platforms.”
The Nintendo Wii version is believed to be the most interactive out of the other versions on the PS2 and the PSP, with the Wiimote acting as a weapon used to kill other characters in the game.
It was released in the United States but other European countries, including the United Kingdom, has refused to release the game.
