IGN is showcasing screen shots for the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken game! And 1up.com has the footage of the epic gameplay.
Note the “X” stands for “Cross” (-over).
Two of the biggest game developers in the world, Namco and Capcom, had decided to team up with their biggest fighting franchises. During Capcom’s panel at Comic-con, a demo of the game reveals a team battle mode with Street Fighter’s Chun-Li and Ryu against Tekken’s Kazuya and Nina. The combatants were battling on a 2D plane with Street Fighter 4’s distinct graphics and showcased team-based attacks! When Ryu activated his partner Chun Li, she unloads her infinite kicks attack into Spinning bird Kick! Then Kazuya, dazed, walked into Ryu as he charges and unleashes Ultra (Metsu) Hadoken. When Kazuya tags in Nina, she does her hand combo into a neck break grab, holding Ryu, Kazuya does an overly exaggerated charge uppercut to Ryu's chin.
It is also known Namco, who own Tekken, will be making their version called Tekken X Street Fighter, which will bring Street Fighter to the 3D realm. No demo or pictures have been revealed for this project at this time.
Capcom is also kept busy with their other major crossover 2D fighting game: Marvel vs Capcom 3, who revealed Thor and Okami’s wolf as playable characters at Comic-Con.
