Sony Wins and Nintendo Grins Against Piracy

The Federal Court of Australia has made a decision to ban the PS3 Jailbreak mod chips indefinitely.
The Jailbreak mod chip allows PS3 titles downloaded from the net to be played on the PS3.
Companies involved in the case include OzModChips, Quantronics and Mod Supplier.
Anyone who had pre-ordered the chip will also expect a note from Sony’s legal representatives.
On top of that, Sony has already released firmware update 3.42 on Tuesday, which enables the system to identify and lock out the advanced mod chip known as Jailbreak.

On Nintendo's front, pirate gamers with Nintendo DSi’s will be caught with an awful surprise if they try to play their Flash cards with the new firmware update.
Tinycartridge.com claims version 1.4.1U for the Nintendo DSi has blocked the use of 5 flashcards on the system.
This is total win for Nintendo, however flash card manufacturers will most likely create firmware updates to circumvent this update to keep customers happy.
While Nintendo attempt to patch the DSi, they are still keeping secret about the security measures used for their upcoming handheld, the 3DS.
