PS3 may break even next year! Another price drop?

Sony president hopes for a bright future for the PS3 next fiscal year.
Asked by news site, Reuters, Kaz Hirai said the 40gig PS3 is saving Sony costs in building the system and hopes to make a profit in April.
“That is not a definite commitment, but that is what I would like to try to shoot for."The head chief said at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last Sunday.
This is big news for Sony to make some profit off the PS3, which has been lagging 3rd behind the sales wars with the 360 and Wii. Low costs in creating the system means Sony will lose less cash than making with expensive or more parts, and make a profit quicker.
Possible reasons for the low development costs can include the lack of paying to install a PS2 and PSone playback feature, and, according to Kaz Hirai, strong cooling hardware.
"The 40 gigabyte PlayStation 3 obviously has fewer components (than 60gig and 80gig models), and uses less power, which means that components required to dissipate heat, for example, can be smaller, so there is some cost reduction there."
Right now, Sony hasn't seen a cent back from developing so much PS3's since its release. Producing a single console costs more than the price tag in the shops, which makes it true to the proverb: ‘got to lose some to make some’. All businesses start off at a loss of profit, and that includes the big video gaming corporations.
Another good news for Sony includes $1.2 million worth of PS3’s are in peoples’ homes during the holidays.
Could the low cost of making PS3 hardware create another price drop? Only time will tell!
