New PS3 bunde shipping to OZ
February 5th 2008 03:30
Australian gaming website, Palgn, has confirmed with Sony about a new PS3 bundle ready to ship on February 14.
The $799.95 bundle includes a PS3, two controllers, and a choice between four games. The titles include Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction , Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and NBA 08.
Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction was given an average review score of 89% at gamerinkings.com. I’ve played Ratchet and Clank: Up your Arsenal on the PS2 and it is one bitchin game and one of the most addictive platform games I’ve ever played. By the score for Tools of Destruction, chances are high that it will have the same platforming heaven like before.
Heavenly Sword is a REALLY good God of War clone that should be picked up by any Kronos fan. Fighting is as hectic as ever with over 6 opponents trying to slice your head off at once. Luckily, the main heroine is equipped with really nice assets, ahem, I mean really nice fighting assets, as taking down opponents with a combination of kick, punch and grab moves, a breeze to do.
I haven’t played Uncharted but after reading a review on it by Hyper, it is a solid platform adventure game. And it had a high average score of 90%! On gamerankings.com.
As for NBA 08? Well do you like basketball? It is also a multiplayer game out of the package.
Sounds like a nice selection of games to choose from, but I still feel a bit iffy over the price. Forking over $799.95 is still a big investment. However you will now get to play with a friend off the bat and for $200 less than the price since it was first released. Either way this is a great step up for the PlayStation fans who are still saving up for the large black box.

The PS3 is definitely looking like the best buy with each month passing, especially with the Final Fantasy 13's and Metal Gear Solid coming soon.

I agree, despite grabbing more fans this month, Sony hasn't made enough dough to cover their loss yet to even consider a drastic remodel of the PS3 at this time.
Plus Sony hasn't said a word.
A rumour is not solid fact. A PS3 slim version could be possible, but it is still classified as a rumour. And, unlike T3 magazine, I wouldn't hold my breath for it this year...
Other forums stated a slimline version would be possible with forthcoming production of smaller chipsets. But it most likely won't see the light of day for the next two to three years.
