Need For Speed: Shift 2 marks New Game Development Plan?

The driver’s cockpit is having an upgrade as EA announces new Need for Speed title, which may follow Activision’s game development trend.
Taking a page from Activision’s book for its popular FPS series, it seems like EA is aiming for a Need For Speed game each year. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will be released in America on November 16 this year, while Need For Speed: Shift 2 has been announced by its publisher, Electronic Arts, for early next year.
Activision originally had two developers working on the Call of Duty series, Treyarch and Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward created Call of Duty 1 in 2003 and 2 in 2005. Treyarch made Call of Duty 3 a year later. Infinity Ward made Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare a year after that, and Treyarch made World at War the next year. And, you guessed it; Moder, Warfare 2 is made the following year, in 2009. This year marks Treyarch’s release of Call of Duty: Black Ops on November 9.
Now back to the latest Need for Speed announcement. Need for Speed: Shift 2 marks the return of a ‘numbered’ title since Underground 2 six years ago.
