Love not war, the Microsoft way

The Blu-ray vs HD-DVD war might end with flowers given as the 360’s marketing manager might consider the Blu-ray as 360 compatible in the future.
Albert Penello, group marketing manager for the 360’s hardware, told Reuters at the Consumer Electronics Show, of a possible truce if the Blu-ray wins.
“It should be consumer choice; and if that's the way they vote, that's something we'll have to consider."
In light of major DVD producer's, Time Warner’s, defunct to blu-ray; the 360’s marketing honcho seems to be tired from all this ‘war’ business.
"You can't say it's not a bummer, not a setback, but I've seen this battle declared over so many times."
Penello also pointed out how the war between discs isn’t much of a big deal in the long run; looking back at the PS2’s DVD playback feature no longer seen as the consoles major selling point.
"With the PlayStation 2, DVD was a big part in the beginning, but over time, people were not buying it as a DVD player after first year or two."
I still believe Blue-Ray and HD-DVD is still ahead of its time. It’s great to be able to fit in whole seasons of shows into one disk, but how many game developers besides Square-Enix who will take the time to use up all that space? Until the next Unreal engine is invented, that will naturally eat up heaps of memory; the next generation disks are terribly underused.
