Labor shows support for our industry

Voting Labor is voting for the equal Rights and eventual growth “triple in size” of our local video games industry, as I understand from an article by The Age.
Video game developers may get a piece of the tax rebate (refund) cake if the Labor Government wins the election on November 24, according to the Shadow Minister for Information Technology, Senator Stephen Conroy.
The keyword is “may”, since the Shadow Minister will create a group known as the “High Level Committee”, to review, again, the tax rebate issue proposed by the Games Developers’ Association of Australia.
Senator Helen Coonan, the current Minister for Communication and Information Technology, has rejected the GDAA’s latest proposal in early October.
GDAA chief Greg Bondar said he supports Senator Stephen Conroy’s proposal for a succesful review since the campaign started five years ago.
"We are thrilled that Senator Conroy is prepared, should Labor be elected to government, to take the time to assess our industry and give sound consideration to our call for a rebate. This is a positive step forward for our industry." Greg Bondar said.
According to the GDAA, the successful bid would mean an additional $25 million boost for developers to play with and encourage a growth in the industry “triple in size within a few years”.
Helping the local game industry is also helping to create more great games, like maybe a BioShock sequel.
