Just Played: Crysis 2 MP and Black Ops MP

Crysis 2's (C2) single player was bigger, louder and easier on the eye than Black Ops (BO), however the multiplayer (MP) is a different story.
Crysis 2's main draw card in multiplayer is the use of the nanosuit, which allows you to go invisible, jump really high and increase your armour to take more hits. It adds a unique level of strategy when traversing the terrain, which is leaps and bounds more interesting than whats on offer in the over saturated FPS MP market.
As great as the new level of gameplay Crytek has let us all experience, it means I'm forced to ditch how I normally play in FPS MPs: run and gun. With players jumping about and cloaking whenever they like, I'd usually notice the enemy when its too late.
Forcing myself to play how I play in BO and Modern Warfare 2 is just adding fuel to the fire of my burning anger as I'm killed over again and again.
It also seems like the capabilities of the nanosuit reflects how the maps levels are designed. Most of them are not as big as BO in terms of size, but compensates by having more than 2 levels to some of the buildings with several areas to take cover (to recover energy) and places to jump and reach other areas.
The complexity of the map designs means its not uncommon to be running around the entire arena for minutes without finding an enemy... Until they shoot you in the back of course. But this is because I've been playing like how I play usually in standard MP's.
And this could be a problem for new people just entering the game. Without fully understanding how to use the nansuit, they are automatically at a disadvantage and the barrier to entry is than substantially high.
And I have one big gripe about the multiplayer.
The level of detail in the character designs, textures of the map, simulated battles in the background and water flowing continuously is mighty impressive, but only serves to hurt the frame rate, at least on the PS3 version. And that takes a big hit on the fun factor in gun battles where enemies would disappear between frames or slow down entirely, most likely giving the other person even more advantage, which leads to your death and growing frustrations.
Overall I had more fun with Black Ops's less graphic intensive but silky smooth multiplayer, but I'll give Crysis 2 another chance once I feel adequate enough to leap like a panther across buildings and get my first air stomp kill.
