Ricall with a total Web Platform
The Ricall license company has detailed a new web platform for “developers and publishers to licence tracks directly without having to pay finders fees to third-party agencies.”
This means cheaper tracks and more licensed music for games!
Steamy news about Steam
Plans for Valve’s Steam service for a major upgrade to allow players to create their own profiles and groups with voice chat features.
Devil May Cry 4 details.
Pulling out from the Metal Gear Solid 2 hat: Dante will be playable briefly in the game.
I have a feeling Nero will be the PS3 Raiden once DMC4 is released. The game will also be identical on both 360 and PS3 (with no Six Axis features) so no pointless fanboy bashing over which version is better will occur.
Wii Can’t Afford
Currently, Wii owners get to surf internet channels for free. June 30th will end all that as a 500 Wii points entrance fee needs to be paid to gain access to the internet channels. The free download period is coming to an end by the end of June. A message to all budget Wii owners, quoted from the new Fantastic 4 movie: “cherish it while it last.”
My Two Cents
Pointing out the obvious: banning makes games more popular.
Manhunt 2 is a casualty to banning of video games in the UK. For games like this one, the free publicity damning, adds more appeal to the game than from what is in its content. This could mean a rise of imports of the game, which the UK gaming economy wouldn’t benefit from.
I say leave it on the shelves and let the gaming community decide whether they should cash out their hard-earned money for an explicit game.
Spawn’s best friend: Halo
Todd McFarlane’s Halo mania! Creator of the company success story that is Spawn, has already announced Halo toys and wireless controllers to be released around Halo 3’s release.
So far, Master Chief is the only toy revealed in all its detailed glory, hopefully a Covenant action figure is also in the works.
Two versions of the wireless controllers are coming in early September as “Covenant” and “Master Chief” themes.
McFarlane Toys have created other ultra-realistic character models for accomplished games like Metal Gear Solid 2, Onimusha 2 and Soul Calibur 2.
