Happy to be Angry Birds
October 21st 2010 01:36
For $1:19 I got 195 levels of Angry birds. 195 levels of often times brain scratching challenges to get the highly regarded 3 stars. I’ve fallen in love with the gang of birds whose soul purpose is to kill green pigs with their feather-covered bodies. In fact, other than the 5 seconds you’ll see a single screen pan from left to right showing the pigs stealing an egg, the round green villains aren’t doing much else to grief me. The only grieving happening is to me, as sending my platoon of birds to their targets is determined by the single pull of my thumb. In the end, I’ve fallen for both the Angry Birds and green pigs.
Apparently I’m not alone. EA sees the profit potential of Angry Birds and bought out the publisher, Chillingo, for $US20 million. Kotaku followed up with EA and a representative has said the developers, Rovio Mobile LTD, will be keeping all rights to Angry Birds. It’s a small but important detail in a developer’s contract since the infamous Activision vs the creative heads of Infinity Ward case battle.
This is great news for Angry Birds! And great news for fans as an extra 45 levels in a Halloween themed expansion for an extra $1:19 is available in the App store.
