Guitar Hero Wii Will Rock Online Too
September 10th 2007 17:08
RedOctane had succeeded in adding an online feature to Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii. This news means all next generation versions of the game will have online play.
British video game website Pro-G has updated its interview with Guitar Hero 3 president, Kai Huang, confirming online functionality for the Wii version.
A RedOctane representative contacted Pro-G with a statement verifying online compatibility, but without downloadable content.
"There will, in fact, be Online gameplay for the Wii when Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock launches in late October. However, there will not be Downloadable content available on the Wii at launch. That, we are still working with Nintendo on."
Mr Huang originally said the team hadn’t included an online option but were working on it at the time of the original interview.
Despite coming with a seemingly identical guitar, the Wii version of the game will still involve the Wii-mote, but Kai Huang has been keeping its functionality under wraps.
“The Wii version will be a different experience,” Said Huang.
“We haven't made any specific announcements on what the differences are, but absolutely we want to take advantage of the Wii-mote and utilise all of its capabilities. People will be able to see the differences.”
Maybe the Wii-mote’s role might be unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show this September…
