(For Bourne and Wipeout Fans) PS3 and 360 news
June 28th 2007 14:05
Not much essential news besides the big Wii update known as WiiWare
but there are 2 news reports that has caught my eye and other websites eyes that would interest Bourne (read: Matt Damon) fans and Wipeout fans.
Bourne Again (This time on consoles)
Who is looking forward to Bourne Ultimatum? Definitely not me, I’m looking forward to playing a stack of video games I bought in a sales rush. But maybe I’ll be looking forward to Bourne when it shows up on the PS3 and 360 scheduled for summer 2008.
The Sierra website has posted an announcement on the creation of Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Conspiracy.
The gameplay is set in third person and touts to be an “espionage game.” I’m already feeling a strange sense of foreboding about this title, it has tough competition with the likes of Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell), Gabe Logan (Syphon Filter) and Riddick (Escape from Butcher’s Bay), let alone, the big SS.
It is also hyped up to fans about revealing Bourne’s true identity with never before seen (or read) material included. The announcement also reveals the loyalties the developers have to the supporting material, remaining faithful to the Bourne universe without branching off to totally new areas (besides adding to the already established story) to get the fans mad. If only video games to movies can be this faithful (why, Doom, why?).
E3 and the August edition of The Official Xbox magazine will reveal even more about this title.
Other PS3 news: Wipeout fans will be having constant headaches after staring at the screen too hard again in Wipeout HD scheduled for a late 2007 release on the PS3.
