Far Cry 2 lighting up new FPS gameplay?

Reveals coolest feature that could change how FPS players duke it out?
The one minute demo pointed out the game’s “open world”, “large draw distance” and dynamic sky which changes depending on the weather used. Visibility might be affected by the elements, much like the sun feature in Resident Evil 5, but not as alluring. But I haven’t gotten to the juicy bit featured!
The tech demo for Far Cry 2 featured the main character lighting up the environment with his flamethrower, making the grass burn up, tree’s fall and houses explode, while leaving the ground black as coal. With this kind of game design, we could expect much more use of guerilla tactics in multiplayer.
But it can only work if the fire is the most powerful element in the game: that it will do a pwnload of damage. If Ubisoft Montreal can make the fire a force to be reckoned with, like once the player is in the soup and lose half their health bar, then players will be forced to adapt to this new threat and use the open world to avoid it. Then, if you’re a real bastard, you could have traps set up beforehand to ambush enemies. Now that would be pwnage right there, like forcing a mouse in a maze to the TNT.
For the mid-casual PC player, the whole “Dynamic” aspect of the game, like the lighting, draw distance and detailed grass, could be hampered by how powerful your rig is. PS3 and 360 owners don’t have to worry about this of course.
I can imagine creating rings of fire that would engulf the enemy whole, or keeping players at bay to give the player enough time to figure a way to create another trap. This could create a genre of FPS’s which promotes an indepth gameplay, style like guerilla tactics, as well as keeping FPS experiences fresh.
