England PM calling out to developers and parents to protect young gamers

A public review on the media vs violent video games debate will be held at this year's London Games Festival after England Prime Minister Gordon Brown has called for his own review on violent games exposed to children.
The Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association will host the “Ban These Evil Games” forum at the Royal Society of Medicine.
Topics that may be covered include the media’s relationship with the video games industry and how media coverage affects the videogame industry and its market.
Meanwhile, Gordon Brown claims at his monthly press conference in Downing Street that censorship isn't the answer, but having rules that everyone will be aware of is the first step to protecting children from sex, drugs and violence in this multimedia age.
"This is not an area where you can proceed, in my view, without trying to establish both what the boundaries are and what is the consensus you can build around these boundaries." he said.
"I am not interested in censorship at all, but I think we do need rules governing some aspects of the Internet and videos where children are involved."
The PM hopes to reach parents, developers and internet providers to consider child safety from harmful material as a first priority.
The London Games Festival starts at October 22 to 26 and will be held in various locations around London.
The PM’s review will be headed by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
