Be a Man Vincent!

Catherine is more than just a "adult block puzzle game", it is a soap opera dealing with infidelity, coming of age, and relationships. It deals with "real" adult themes and is worth a playthrough once it comes out in Australia.
The main character is Vincent, a 32 year old Systems Engineer going out with his girlfriend of 5 years, Katherine. His life starts to shake when Katherine hints to him to grow out of his man baby ways and consider marriage.
You see, Vincent is content with his life and Katherine isn't. He doesn't want to stop the joys of going out with his friends at the local bar, the Stray Sheep, get drunk and wake up in his messy apartment the next morning. He likes to spend on electronic devices, much to Katherine's dismay. And his weak-willed, letting his work call him and make him do extra time without pay. So what does Katherine see in him? Why would someone with a sense of direction in life be with someone who doesn't?
Well because Vincent does have redeeming qualities, obviously.
In the "nightmare" world, where most of the gameplay takes place, we get to see a side of Vincent Katherine must have seen to fall in love with. He is a leader by example, who impresses others with his block solving skills, and a team player who offers encouragement to other climbers by giving them tips on how to tackle a hard puzzle.
However none of these traits translate to his real life. But like a car crash, it is hard not to continue watching Vincent scrambling along his unfortunate circumstance which he made for himself. He is unlikeable, indecisive, weak willed, a liar and a man baby coward. But as the story unfolds, we get to see his better qualities coming to life, and eventually releases himself from the cell he had made for himself.
The overly sexualised trailers released for this game failed to show the melodramatic ways the characters in this game go through. Catherine is a unique game for anyone who wants to add variety in their gaming palette.
On a more fan-boyish note, this game was created by the same team who created the Persona game series. The creators will give more than a nod at the tail half of the game for fans.
