Battlefield, 1.5 million, 3

Battlefield 3's campaign for FPS dominance has taken a step forward as over 1.5 million pre-orders had been made.
The massive amount of pre-orders stems from the popularity of Battlefield: Bad Company 2's mulitplayer, which is strongly considered the superior alternative against's Call of Duty's twitch intensive gameplay.
And lets not forget the amazing first look of the game, which I believe, marks the new standard in video game graphics as did Doom 3 done in 2004.
Compared to Call of Duty's multiplayer, Bad Company 2 gives players more than one way to decide how they want to encounter the enemy; either by guns blazing (via the sniper scope or metres away), commanderring a land or flying vehicle, or play a support role as a mechanic or medic.
Despite 1.5 million pre-orders sounding like a lot, it is merely a small percentage compared with over 26 million copies sold by the franchise since its creation.
And then there is the numbers from the Call of Duty camp: over 98 million copies of all their titles combined as of last August provided by IGN.
As much as I am excited for the two big FPS heavyweights coming in November, my eye is still on Skyrim and Saints Row 3... Just saying.

The Soak
The numbers game with Call of Duty is silly. The quality of a game cannot be measured by ending (or beginning) sales numbers but by how dedicated the fans are. Case in point: Battlefield 2 and Call of Duty 2, both released in 2005, have drastically different numbers of players on the servers, with Battlefield greatly eclipsing Call Of Duty.
