Australian Initiative to give an extra life to Youths

Move over date sims, there is a new, largely backed, online game that isn’t just another educational game, but promises to help teens choose the right decisions in their daily lives.
Its called Reach Out Central.
"[The Game] should be a place where young people want to go, rather than the classic educational games that may be good for you but you didn't particularly enjoy," Inspire Foundation’s director of programs, Jonathan Nicholas, said.
According to Stuff.co.nz and beyondblue, a $500,000 initiative to help young teens to make the right decisions in life has been uploaded in the form of a videogame at Reach Out!'s website today.
The online role playing game, aimed at gamers aged between 16 to 25, will test the player’s moral knowledge with scenarios and include maintaining the characters happiness, self-confidence and physical energy to become the best player in the game, a la Don.
The decisions made in the game will, hopefully, re evaluate what teens thought was the right decision and use it to practice.
Why a computer game? Jonathan Nicholas finds the computer game industry as the outlet to make teens aware of the decisions they make.
"Research has found that 72% of young males and 48% of young females play some kind of electronic game,” Nicholas said.
"Young people are online, we know that they're high consumers of the digital age, so we need to get our messages and we need to interact with young people online - that's a given,
“We hope to have a positive impact on young men who are traditionally hard to reach and the most at-risk.”
Sony Foundation Australia through their their Project Rainbow program and other major Australian Youth and Health organisations, including NSW Health and the Teen Spirit Foundation, help contribute to get this game on the net.
Well what do I think? I think this is a great example to show very concerned parents that there is hope for their children through computer games, which are developed for every audience on the world.
