360’s move to provide BBC’s Library on Live
September 12th 2007 04:29
Big Planet might be downloadable on Xbox live if Microsoft can strike up a successful deal with the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation).
Timesonline reported that the BBC deal is the first major step with Microsoft since signing an agreement about digital services last year.
Ross Honey, senior director for media at Microsoft’s content and partner strategy group, has reconfirmed the company’s determined interest in the BBC library.
“We are working diligently on multiple fronts to make it happen,” Mr Honey said.
“The BBC is a great content provider.”
After acquiring deals with CBS, Disney, Fox, MTV, Paramount and Warner since last November; it’s pretty obvious that Microsoft has been chasing down major television networks and movie studios like Rupert Murdoch is with newspapers.
This all adds up to one solid market for the 360’s console-leading high definition video library, which includes TV shows, films and high definition programs.
