As far as games are concerned, Christmas is already here. All the AAA titles of this year are on store shelves, sporadically sold out and stocked up at all major game stores like EB, Game, Gametraders and Gamesmen. Christmas marks the return of big franchises like Gears of War and Uncharted. And the return to form to mascots of yesteryear.

Mascots returning to the spot light include Sonic the Hedgehog in Sonic Generations. A revisit to the memorable worlds in the series from the the first game to the present. Each Stage comes in 2 Acts: Act 1 is in 2D as the original Sonic character model from the Genesis days, and Act 2 is in 3D as the green eyed, talkative Sonic from the Dreamcast games and onwards. It all adds up to a fun nostalgia rush and a reminder for long time fans the scope of how far Sonic had traveled since 20 years ago

Why I like Dead Island

I actually don’t like horror movies because I don’t find getting scared or watching a female getting chased for half the film fun to watch. Yet I love to know the inventive ways a character gets killed off or if the aforementioned female makes it out alive. Dead Island allows me to immerse myself with one of the most iconic creatures in a horror setting and experience clichéd mini horror stories in the form of side missions at my own leisure.
